MacK all the way.

Palat and Johnson had amazing years, but they are 5 years older than Mack and have professional experience already with stints in the AHL and minor ones with the Lightning.

MacK showed up straight from Junior and has been dynamite

If they are offering Yakupov, I don't think that will bring back the return. Defenseman that are playing those minutes and roles on the teams still in the playoffs will likely keep them over adding Yak. Maybe Hall or the Nuge, but I doubt they would do it for Yakupov.

oh boy. Depending on who the players involved are, that's the kind of trade I'm into.

From a source..." the Edmonton Oilers are putting together a major package for a big time top two defenseman on a team that is still playing in the NHL playoffs... This trade would include their first round selection, plus a major player and would return the defender and a first and second round pick."

Given their oft-rumored interest last year:

Philly receives:
#3
Jordan Eberle

Edmonton receives:
Braydon Coburn
PHI #1
PHI #2

I'd love it more if we subbed Gagner for Eberle and you guys dropped the 2nd...but I'm likely shortchanging the Flyers there.

Lol, so you get a top line forward and the #3 overall pick in return for a 2nd pairing defenseman and two mid round 1&2 picks?

Yep. If it's a Penguins defender, it's Letang. Dump his salary, sign Niskanen, bring up the youth.

Scuds. What's up there? An early exit from the playoffs for the Kings and maybe we can send him back? Or maybe to the Islanders who are moving to Brooklyn (he's from Long Island).

And Trotz will replace Bylsma.

I think at least one of those is going to happen.

yeah i'm 98% certain Ek is making this up. but if it were real, the players i would be looking to are Seabrook and Subban.

Yeah I'm almost positive that's the case. I don't think MacT would be talking so definitively about their impressions of the prospects if he was putting together such a big move for the pick.

Has to be Subban. 3rd overall + Yakupov for Subban, 21st overall and a second? Canadiens thinm highly of Yak. Imagine him back with Galchenyuk. Habs will need a scorering winger again once Vanek leaves

Am I missing something? I don't think this is a sign of Niskanen being ready to take the reins right now

Lingering health issues would be the only reason I'd replace Letang with Niskanen

If not Subban the only other guy I can think of is Pietrangelo. Same scenario as the Habs

i don't see any match with Montreal/Edmonton, not on a Subban-type scale. i don't see Montreal interested in any of RNH, Eberle or Yak for Subban, and the Oil aren't dealing Hall.
